Historical Evidence

Still feeling pretty lousy. Thanks for the well-wishing emails! Hope to be back to regular posting soon.

In the meantime, please make sure you read this, from the author of Lapdogs.

Historically, the only president to ever poll this low for this long in his 2nd term was Nixon, and he had criminal charges facing him.

But that's not the astounding part. As Boehlert makes clear, the crazy thing is how little the traditional media want to talk about it.

Enjoy!

  • That article on Bush's ratings was incredible. I'm consistently amazed by the fact that the overwhelming majority of the public think this guy's a retard, yet absolutely nothing is done to portray it. The press ate Clinton alive (much like Ms. Lewinsky) and searched for any reason to attack him.

Are Bush's money and influence really so great that he can remain outside the fray he created? It would appear that, no matter the evidence, the press corps will continue to blow him. Lasciviously, prodigiously, gratifyingly blow him until he leaves office as the documented worst president ever.

  • Credit Bush for making it disloyal and treasonous to even suggest that he might be wrong.

His whole "you're either with us or the terrorists" scare tactic worked really well.

Because news is based on ratings, reporters are TERRIFIED of being labeled as liberals, terrorist sympathizers, etc.

In response, they act as stenographers, not reporters.

    At least that's my take.
